Guatemalan Kids is a small non profit founded by Enrico and Norine Contolini which focuses on supporting reputable orphanages (called Hogares) and other similar organizations such as feeding and rehabilitation centers, which help poor, abandoned and orphaned children in Guatemala. Guatemala has a very high birth rate and it is also a very poor country. Many children die before they reach school age for reasons that are deemed unacceptable in western countries. Many others spend their young lives looking for food in garbage dumps or selling cigarettes on the streets. Dozens of orphanages can be found anywhere from within the capital, Guatemala City, to villages and towns around the country. In February 2008, we have extended our help to a remote and very needy hospital in Haiti. Click on the links
