Why this website? Well, in 2005, after three biological children, we adopted our 4th child from Guatemala. After two years of delays and struggles, corruption and finally the joy of meeting our new son Paolo, we thought it would be the end of our journey. We had decided to adopt because we believe we are so fortunate. We materially have so much in comparison to most of the world population. This is how Paolo joined our family in 2005.   We nicknamed him our star fish.

Paolo and our brief experience in Guatemala actually re-opened our eyes to the reality of the third world and in particular to the conditions of children in Guatemala. Within a year from adopting Paolo, we have met and/or worked with organizations that have already done a lot for the poorest of Guatemala, for example: Hands-of-Hope and Orphan Resources

After 3 years of fundraising, we will go to Guatemala, as a family, in December 2009 to volunteer for a month. We will be working in a free clinic and at an orphanage. It's a great adventure. We are very excited, but also a little scared. Please pray for our safety and that our hearts can be open to God's will as we serve the least fortunate.
